If you have a pet that you want to neuter, you can contact us for an appointment, regardless of whether it has a owner or not. We will make the appointment depending on the availability of the vet office and your ability to bring the animal at the scheduled time. You will have to transport the animal to the office where the sterilisation will be done and to take it back after the surgery.

Send the picture of the pet together with your contact details (name and phone number) by e-mail to anu.campanie.sterilizari@gmail.com. Contact details are required to make the appointment at the vet office. The picture will be used in a before-after collage to prove to the sponsors that the sterilisation was done.
Depending on the waiting list, it may take more or less time, so be patient. In order to benefit from our free sterilisation campaign, the appointment is made only by our association, not directly at the vet office. We are not responsible for personal appointments at the vet office.
Take the animal to the vet office at the scheduled time. Please don't be late to your appointment!
Take the animal back after the sterilisation operation. If it is a street animal, provide accommodation in a warm place for at least one night. Do not leave the animal under anesthesia on the street or in other places where it could be injured.
How much time does the surgery take?
The procedure takes about an hour, but the veterinarian will tell you when to come after the animal. The appointments are made according to the availability of the veterinarians with whom we collaborate and it depends on them to organise themselves. It is possible that on some appointments you can take the pet to the vet in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon. We will discuss these details together when you contact us.
Recovery after neutering surgery
The surgery is not a difficult one, and the recovery is easy, taking about 2 days until complete recovery. It is important that the pet stays warm, especially if the temperatures are low outside and that they don't pull the stitches. It is generally recommended to not feed the pet for a few hours after the operation.
In some cases, you may notice a greater or lesser discomfort, the pet being dizzy or confused. Don't worry; although it is a rare reaction, it is normal and not a dangerous one.

Neutering is free
Often people ask us if they have to pay anything. The sterilisation operation is free through our campaign, because the costs are covered by donations. However, if you want to accommodate the pet at the vet overnight to keep it safe until the effect of anesthesia fades away, especially if the pet is returned to the territory, then you will have to pay for accommodation at the vet office. Also, if tests are required for a senior pet, they will not be covered by our association.
